Whats Happening in Pinecrest
The Village of Pinecrest is home to many annual events. Most of the events are held at Pinecrest Gardens, but others can be found in the thriving community. We will post more events on our blog in the future, but here are some of Pinecrest’s most popular events:
Live Like Bella Nights of Lights
This event is held at Pinecrest Gardens during the holiday season. For every night of the event, the gardens are lit up with colorful lights and holiday decorations. Live Like Bella, a childhood cancer foundation, presents the event. Kids can take pictures with Santa, listen to stories and Christmas music, eat holiday treats, and even ride ponies.
Every year, right before Christmas, the Pinecrest Gardens put on an all-day Holiday Festival, perfect for families. Children can write letters to Santa, eat holiday treats, get their faces painted, do arts and crafts, and ride midway rides. Santa will be there, so be sure to have your cameras ready for some holiday pictures.
Fine Arts Festival
The annual Fine Arts Festival at Pinecrest Gardens is sure to be a good time for any art or music lover. Live music and decadent art fill the gardens as many artists come from around the country to display their fine art for two days in January. Art includes painting and sculptures as well as mixed media and photography. You can also purchase handmade art and jewelry as an early Valentine’s Day gift, or just get a little something for yourself.
The Chili Cook-Off is one of Pinecrest’s most popular annual events. On this day, people from the community gather around to sample delicious chili prepared by both professional and amateur chili cooks. Country music, line dancing, and pie eating contests are just some of the other activities you can participate in. You can even apply to place your own chili in the amateur chili cook off. Be sure to ask granny for the family’s secret recipe!
Check out the Pinecrest Garden’s version of a community egg hunt at this annual event. At Eggstravaganza, kids can claim over 50,000 eggs hidden throughout the gardens. Face painting, balloon art, games, music, and more can also be found at this family-friendly event.
As a community starving to be as green as it can be, Pinecrest takes great pride in celebrating Earth Day every year. Every Earth Day, Pinecrest Gardens opens up their gates to the public for free for some eco-friendly fun. There are workshops held by the CLEO Institute and Plant Societies, an eco-fashion show, green vendors, arts and crafts, ladybug releases, and of course planting activities for the whole family.
Other local annual events include
Bike Ride Day
Daddy & Daughter Dance
Shakespeare in the Park
